Broadcasters who read here: What is your opinion on the balance between describing the action in detail vs laying back?

I was having a conversation with a broadcaster in a shooter game and the discussion came to the balance between describing things in detail vs laying back and letting things play out. Granted, shooters games are different than RTS, which are different than sports, but the attitudes and progression of broadcasters in their approach are similar.

If you would be so kind, can you share some words about where you stand, where you would like to be, and what your philosophy is about this? Have you had discussions with peers on this subject?

While this post is hoping to get insight from the practitioners, I would be happy to hear some thoughts on how we the fans feel about it too. Which broadcasters stand out for you, particularly during tense fights and end game? Which styles do you prefer?

noob help: I keep stalling out and failing to attack

Honestly, I think the campaign bred this bad habit into me. Most campaign maps either have no time limit and encourage you to clear out the whole map at a slow pace, or are defense holdout missions, or can be cheesed by micro-ing Kerrigan/Nova. The mission I found the hardest was Rite of Rak’shir because I had to consistently macro out units, and in the end I just went with massed void rays, so I didn’t even really learn my lesson lol.

Now, I have a hard time past the first 5 minutes. I get through my build order, then I just sorta… sit around. If my opponent harasses me, then I’ll just stay in base until I have 4 digits worth of resources, then panic build 5 starbays and a fusion core to rush BCs. That usually works against the AI but players, when I do vs players, will just build corruptors or whatever and then I’m a big pile of money in the sink, so I surrender

This is stupid. I’m being stupid. Help?

Co-Op Mutation #325: Doomsday Report

The Moebius Corps fleet has converged upon Veridia Prime. They bombard the surface without regard for friend or foe, and the experimental reality-warping propagators have been unleashed unto the unsuspecting populace. Push back the enemy for long enough to stabilize the planet.

#Map: Vermillion Problem

**Going Nuclear**
Nukes are launched at random throughout the map.
**Orbital Strike**
Enemy Orbital Strikes are periodically fired throughout the map.
**Propagators**
Reality warping sludges are crawling towards you. Anything they touch is turned into a copy of the sludge.

#Rating: Brutal +4

#Notes:

* Propagators have 450 health, and transform any unit they touch into one of them, effectively killing the unit.
* The first Propagator spawns at 3:30, and a new one spawns every 90 seconds on Brutal.
* Propagators hit ground units, air units, heroic units, and buildings.
* Objects that turn into the propagator have the exact same HP as the propagator that infected it; so a 1-HP Propagator can only make more 1-HP Propagators.
* Spider mines, toxic nests, and banelings can connect with the poopagator before it poopagates them.
* Crooked Sam’s Detonation Charge, Abathur’s Disabling Cloud, and Vorazun’s stuff can all prevent poopagators from poopagating.
* The warning spot for Going Nuclear is the large targeting area. However, you only have 5 Blizzard seconds of warning before the nuke hits.
* Amon has  ]  of Orbital Strikes.
